I'm wanting to know some of the methods used in long-term storing of handgun barrels, to prevent rust.
Is putting my barrel in a jar of motor oil and forget about it the way to go?

Pretty much any decent grease from the auto parts store and pack it full.

I store my extra barrels in one of the Plano type fishing lure boxes with the blue dessicant tabs and never look back.
