I’m getting a custom shop put together. Leather products such as slings, belts, etc but also building custom 1911s.
Just like many other small businesses, a niche market approach seems to be the best way.
I would like to concentrate on 9mm Commanders. Colt has been making them for decades and there appears to be quite a following.
Another niche market that I think could be developed is a suppressed 1911. Yes, they already exist in 45 ACP but, to me, a suppressed 1911 in 40 S&W would be much better than 9mm or 45
Just looking for actual experience
Would a 40 S&W suppress better than a 45 or 9mm with off the shelf ammo?
9mm is supersonic(factory loads) and the 45 has too short of an impulse. The 45 also has a very thin barrel to thread.
