Is there any advantage in 13.5 x 1 mm VS 1/2 x 28 assuming you are starting from scratch and don't have anything yet?

Slightly larger bearing surface.
12.7*3.1416=39.9 vs 13.5*3.1416=42.41
But at the level of torque that a pistol generates, it really doesn't matter. Just the difference b/t metric vs English Imperial Units.

Imperial supposedly has more tendency to unscrew than Metric. I haven't witnessed this personally though.

Metric can get away with less threads than imperial.

Metric has o-rings that help keep the threads clean and the part in place.

More US smiths will cut Imperial threads over Metrics.

I am sure there are more comparisons, just off the top of my head....

Thanks. I am contemplating an HK and was thinking of keeping it all metric.

For what reason? Form or function?
