Will a Ruger 10/22 cycle suppressed?

Post by hardcase »

I have a .22, Warlock II in jail that should be out soon. I have a Walther P22 already to go with a threaded barrel. My original plan was to have this old single shot .22 I've had since I was about 8 years old threaded. It is an original 90% Remington Targetmaster Model 41 made in the 1930s. In recent years this has been by back porch plinker as it has the original iron sights and the barrel is long enough that I can see the front sights even with old man eyes.

I thought it was just an old .22. I now find out it is actually worth something so I'm in the market for a .22 silencer host and plan to keep the Rem as is. I see the Ruger 10/22 already has a threaded barrel. I don't really care if I get an auto or not but if I do I want it to cycle. I'd love to find a pump action .22 that way sub-sonic shorts might work. Some .22s I've heard don't have enough thickness in the barrel to thread. This would definitely ruin my day.

Ruger makes two other very fine rifles the bolt action 77/22 and the lever action 96/22.Both will need muzzle threading.I have heard the 10-22 muzzle threads are wonky and have caused some issues. The 77/22 with a scope is one of the best .22s I have ever shot suppressed or not.The scope help us more mature men!

We make a great integrally suppressed barrel for the 10/22 platform. It is called the Pinnacle II

Yes, mine does but to be really quiet you'll need subsonic ammo.

Another suggestion - Savage Mk 2 FVSR - already threaded from the factory

I have an older one and it does with Remington subsonic ( If you are reading this Remington - make some more ) but I have to cycle it with CCI 710fps and is VERY quiet with Halo suppressor.
