Way to resurrect a 4 year old thread.

For what it's worth, I have a Crye gunclip for my Glock 19 and it works well enough. I've used it in a match, and it was a fun novelty.

Hey Libertarian,

I've been wondering about those, but have wondered whether it may unclip when it bangs into things like walls or doors or when dropping prone. Think it would be up to the task?

As long as the snap is closed, it's solid as a rock. Once the snap is opened, then it's ok to walk around, jump, etc. But bumping into something or dropping prone may pop the gun out. I haven't tried it, but I need to do some good testing on it. So far, I don't think I'd feel very confident with the snap open.

Thanks for the reply, I've noticed that rigid items that snap together via a button like the Gunclip have a tendency to pop open when they get hit very hard at all. It may be worth me getting one just to work it over good and see how it performs. So far, my favorite suppressed pistol holster is the BDS Tactical Universal holster. I use it with my Glock 17 with a can attached and it works very well. Had to make a few adjustments so there was no snagging when drawing the suppressor out of the holster, and a couple tweaks to ensure that it would stay put and wouldn't bounce and slide all over my thigh when running around.

Answered my own question. Took the plunge and bought one. extremely disappointed.

1) i trusted pictures and didn't ask questions- the body is completely made of plastic and feels cheap (i thought it was aluminum). the detent ball for retention is not smooth at all and just to get the damn thing to move when i got it, i had to hold it in my hand and press as hard as i could with my thumbs. it's a bit loser, but will get snagged.

2) since it's a plastic body, the metal sleeve the detent is in isn't 100% square on the body and i have to assume with regular use the metal threads will strip out of the plastic body that holds the gun.

3) the locking mechanism is a joke. it takes two hands to do it and since it doesn't hold square on the sleeve holding the detent, which causes it to bind. you can't just lock it with the lever, you have to press and rotate the entire base.

some of the guys with spaceguns that are at the matches i go to have them, but i would say to stay away from it. will try the Hogue one next.

Here is a link to the holster. The draw is quick, retention great, and no need for straps or buttons...
