Suppressing the G21

Post by EvilKev »

I am looking into suppressing my G21 and would appreciate some input from G21 owners that are running suppressors.

So far my focus is on a Bar-Sto barrel and maybe a Nexus can, but I am wide open to suggestions and recommendations.

Thank you :)

I have a Storm Lake Barrel on my G21 and it tears up the o-ring seal on my 45Osprey (Kenny @ Silencerco said it is because it is threaded to the very end and not milled down), but then again so is my factory Sig barrel too and I have no problems with it. It also is a tad bit longer than it needs to be imo. Other than that it seems to be a nice barrel. Tight, and groups nice.

OK.
Why not use a Nexus can?
What are your reasons?

Thanks

There are so many better 45 cans out there made by better companies.

That's what I'm looking for, any suggestions - maybe a top 5 I can choose from?

See my first post. The Silencerco Osprey and AAC Ti-Rant 45 are the two best 45 cans available. They are about the same soundwise depending on hosts. Do some searching on here about the two, there is plenty of info around. Go to www.nfatalk.org to see some tests of the Osprey and others. They have to yet tested the TiRant 45 but Titsworth at www.silencerresearch.com has though you have to pay $30. Either way you will be happy. The Osprey does have the option of swithcing piston to shoot on 9mm and 40. Silencerco has metered those setups and have videos on youtube and their website I believe.

im running a lone wolf and swr hems 2 and gemtech sos on my 21sf. little break-in period for the barrel but after that, i have had no issues with it. thing even cycles my non boostered gemtech. i am very happy with both cans but i would go with the osprey. if you plan on suppressing 9mm or 40, you can get the other pistons and use the same can on the hosts. (osprey and the new 5.56 can silenceco is coming out with will be my next purchases)

I looked into Barsto barrels myself and if you are looking to get one from them the wait is about 4 months. If you can find it on the net in stock, you will pay a premium but you can get it.

Rather than doing that for my G21 I just bought the HK USP Tactical

Myself, it looks much worse in person, but shoots great. I undercut the trigger guard and beavertail area as well. Made a huge difference.

I'm 99% sure I'm going with the Osprey... now to choose a barrel.

What do you think about Jarvis?

Lonewolf is the way to go IMO.

Good to have you join the Glock Club Veritas. I wish you a short wait on your stamp brother.

We tested the G21/LWD, M&P45C/OEM and the XD45/Stormlake with the HEMS2, Osprey and QMF. All tested wet for maximum suppression. Out of all the hosts and cans, the G21 is the only host with significant blow back of the wet media. The Osprey was the quietest but the QMF (lightest by far) was almost as quiet up to 6-8 rounds. You also won't need raised sights with the G21/ Osprey.
If it doesn't splatter, shatter, burst or explode, it's not worth shooting.

I found that my sights were just below flush on mine but I have factory fixed sights. I would like to have taller ones.

No complaints with my Osprey on my 21. The LWD barrel and Osprey mount fit absolutely perfect.

I run my G21 and AAC Evo45 with a jarvis barrel only because I bought it before I knew about Lonewolf. I have no complaints about it tho. I have a Lonewolf conversion barrel for my G23 to 9mm tho and it works great.
