40cal. glock 23 as host?
does any one have a 40cal can on a 23? how well does it work? details....please
Re: 40cal. glock 23 as host?
I checked into getting a can for my Glock 23(which is my daily carry weapon). The Class III dealer I use told me that .40 caliber firearms are not good candidates for cans. I pushed him for a price, and he told me a little over $700 USD, plus the ATF tax stamp.mtl272 wrote:does any one have a 40cal can on a 23? how well does it work? details....please
It almost makes me want to build my own, but that would just cost me more money.

Get yourself an Osprey 45 and shoot away.
Stay calm, stay strong, and have a backup plan.

Well, I have a G23 and AAC EVO-40. .40 doesn't really suppress all that well, dry (high pressure & sizeable hole, I suppose). Wet is very good. I mostly use a 9mm conversion barrel and shoot 9mm dry in it nowadays. Suppresses well. Some of the newer, more efficient .40 cans are a little better now. Try AAC Ti-RANT 45 (w/appropriate threaded piston for use w/your .40 setup) or the Silencerco Osprey 40.

Re: 40cal. glock 23 as host?
I have tried using my 23 with the wolf 9mm conversion barrel as a host for my Multimount 9mm can(with booster). Sounds great, but it will not function with the can on. Works great without, and the same can and loads work perfectly on my Beretta and Sig. Haven't really tried to resolve it, maybe a spring issue/bad magazine. Not saying it won't work, just saying MINE doesn't.
Anyway, If you want it quiet, skip the .40 and go 9mm.

I had problems getting my G23 to run suppressed with 9mm also. Tried various springs, ammo, etc. Works 100% now with either Remington or Winchester subsonic, both of which were nearly impossible to find 2 years ago.
