I just saw one at Gander Mountain today so they are out. They wanted $1149 for it so I didn't buy it.

There are a bunch of them with threaded barrels on GunBroker.

I bought mine off GunBroker last month.

I picked one up at Cabelas for $749.00. It replaced my Glock 21 as my favorite host.

Updated mine with wilson combat magwell and Pearce finger groove insert. The magwell blueing did not really match and the factory mags would not fit at all. I ended up taking the dremel and grinding it down till they fit. It did take quite a while to get it right, but I think it turned out pretty good. I sanded off all of the finish and smoothed everything out as well. I spent some time trying to think of how to finish it to match. I settled on Perma blue, but in the mean time I found some Rustoleum satin black on sale and I thought why not. It came out definitely too black, but after I hit it with 1000 grit sand paper I think it looks pretty good. There were a few spots where I had to touch up with sharpie, but I will work on looks more later. Anyhow, take a look. I also bought the hogue wrap around grips and I really like those, but the magwell looks and fits better with this setup. What do you think?

Thanks for the info. Was thinking of getting one and then aending the whole thing off to be nitrided.

However, perhaps it's better to just buy a custom gun from the outset (Dan Wesson Discretion or STI Host or similar)...

Been looking at commander length guns but don't see any with threaded barrels and elevated sights...

Remington bought para ordnance and incorporated paras fantastic double stack 1911s into their R1 line with no changes besides logo stamping on the slides.

I have one from the 93-96 era.
My dad has one from the 2014-15ish era.

Fantastic guns, I can't speak highly enough about them. Mine is beside me in my truck every day.
