“The receptivity of the masses is very limited, their intelligence is small, but their power of forgetting is enormous. In consequence of these facts, all effective propaganda must be limited to a very few points and must harp on these in slogans until the last member of the public understands what you want him to understand by your slogan.”

Re: Quote of the day
The average American has a memory of about 18 months, max. They're fucking mayflies.
The moments I was censored was the moment that I won. That's twice, now. Thanks jwbaker, et al, for my victories.
Re: Quote of the day
I think 18 months is above average.

Howdy,
Of all the "gun people" that I've talked to since the Sandy Hook shooting, not a single one remembers the AWB of '89 except for my Dad who will be 75yo next month.
Even LGS that was in business in '89 do not remember it.
I'm not talking about Climton's so called AWB of '94 but Big George Bush's AWB of '89 that banned the importation of semi-auto versions of select-fire military weapons including the H&K 91, 93, 94, MP-5s, FN FAL, AK, L1A1, Uzi, etc.
This lead to the thumbhole stocked MAK-90 ( Modified AK-1990 ), and several others, to get around the import ban.
Everybody forgets.
It was the largest, most restrictive Federal Gun Law on the books since the GCA of '68 and it was something that Big George started BEFORE he moved into the White House and less than 3 years later he was endorsed by the NRA.
Just doesnt add up.

Re: Quote of the day
Howdy,
On May 19, 1986 Reagan made it illegal to manufactor a machine gun for private sale.
I'm talking about the Assualt Weapons Ban of 1989 or as some called it the Assualt Weapons Importation Ban of 1989.
Clinton's AWB of '94 was actually a magazine and accessory ban instead of a true AWB because it didn't actually ban any "Assualt Weapons" just that you could only have 2 "items" that were on the ban list. That's why all the "Ban Era" AR did not have flashiders or bayonets because they already had a pistol grip ( item #1 ) and were magazine feed outside of the pistol grip ( item #2 ).
IIRC the only guns that where caught up in Clinton's AWB was the Street Sweeper and Striker 12 shotguns.
It did kill the Grendel P30 .22 mag pistol because its "charm" was it's 30 rd magazine.

Re: Quote of the day
Howdy,
Just remember, it's illegal for local, county and state LEOs to enforce Federal Law and Cali wanted to be able to enforce an ever more restrictive law on a State level.
Big George's AWB of '89 made it illegal to import certain firearms but you could still own them and Cali's law made it illegal to own them as well.

It was "tailored" after Big George's AWB but was on a State level so it could be enforced by local, county and state LEOs.doubloon wrote:Commifornia had an assault weapon control act in '89

There ya go.
I had vague recollections of some of that stuff but I've had a deaf ear turned to it mostly since a some of it didn't impact me here in Tejas.
