Tax Plan calculator for new just passed tax plan

Post by johndoe3 »

http://taxplancalculator.com/

Maxim Lott of Reason magazine created a tax calculator for the newly passed tax plan at the link above.

Results show taxes under previous tax law, and under new tax plan just passed.
You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time...and those are pretty good odds.

Well yeah... but now the crew in charge isn't even trying to hide it. Which I guess could be interpreted as an improvement in the honesty department. At least it could if they actually understood how absurd they look while trying to put on their serious big boy faces. I mean seriously, this UN tantrum over Jerusalem is beyond silly. Shades of Kim Jong Un. Is The Donald just doing impressions? Like a latter day Rich Little or something?

I first thought you were talking about politicians in general but I'm guessing by "in charge" you are targeting what passes for the republican party today.

If you want to divide things into "teams" where the republicans are one team currently "in charge" and the democrats are the other team previously "in charge" then neither "team" has been hiding their agenda since the 1960's or well before the 1960's depending on where you look.

Perception of how bad either "team" is for America is twisted through the lens of the media and how well either group hides their crazy all depends on what the media wants to put on display for ratings. The media (including social now) has more power than it has ever had throughout history and is beginning to compete for power as a virtual fourth branch in American politics through the magic of unchecked group think. The idiocracy has begun in earnest.

Neither team is pushing an agenda that will create or support a long term healthy and prosperous America. Neither team has demonstrated a vision of conservancy that looks beyond next year's budget or next year's vote. It's all just bread and circus.

Yeah, I'll take the "loonies" in charge now any day of the week compared to what we've been stuck with the previous 8 years.

The prior 8 year administration was beyond painful for a majority of Americans.

As for the UN debacle you mention, it really just shows the crazies who are mad because we want to move an embassy, to the capital of a foreign country.

If we're going to have an embassy, why shouldn't we have it wherever we want it?

That's only common sense.

Which these days, aren't really that common.

The Israeli country says that Jerusalem is their capital, that makes Jerusalem their capital doesn't it. (no that isn't a question mark at the end of that sentence).

Yet, the UN wants to "block" where we put our embassy.

That is beyond laughable.
I don't care what your chart says

I believe the opinions of the U.N. are equally as valuable and valid as those expressed on The View.

Dumb.

Q: When did the US officially recognize Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel?
A: October 24th, 1995. Passed by Congress, signed in to law by President Bill Clinton.

Immediately after signing that law, Bill Clinton signed a 6-month waiver to avoid moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem. Six months later, he did it again. He did this until he was out of office. As did President George Bush for all eight years of his tenure. As did Obama for all eight years of his tenure.

Trump isn't "throwing a tantrum", he's enforcing the law of the land.
Same for the border.

Kim Jong Un executes his political opponents with triple-As. Trump and Kim Jong Un are not the same thing. It's dumb to suggest otherwise.
