No it is not 'social distancing' or washing your hands, etc.; he pleads for Baltimore people to stop shooting each other during the emergency so that more hospital beds will be available to treat Wuhan Virus patients. Yeah, that'll work--NOT.

At least he didn't ask armed robbers to maintain increased social distancing between them and their victims (prey).

It's seemingly the cool thing to do, talking to criminals as though they deserved respect. Ted Wheeler has been doing it for years in Portland and he's one of the most hated people in that city, with many in Antifa and BLM threatening violence against him. The city council in Minneapolis is claiming to be mystified as to why violent carjackings and other crimes are 5 to 8 times higher than last year... after removing millions in police funding and making many public statements which can be collectively characterized as deliberate efforts to undermine respect for those smaller numbers of officers remaining on the job.

In a time when politicians (mostly lawyers) seem more interested in their careers and winning popularity contests than in governing responsibly, it's a bad time to be a cop, and a fantastic time to be a criminal. In my own city our mayor has broken every promise made pre-election and it seems he's intent on doubling the homeless population each year. He just reduced police funding in his budget for next year relative to inflation, resulting in 61 fewer officers being brought online than were planned to deal with our growing immigrant population.

Of course this is little stuff. There's so much stupidity going on Baltimore's mayor saying stupid things is a drop in the bucket. The overall movement seems to be the breaking down of North America and before too many years the handing over of control to China. I for one am glad to be well stocked with firearms and ammunition, enough to put iron in hands for my family and neighbours should the need arise.
