The Magnaporting and aftermarket sights adds at least $50,000 value to these collectable firearms.

Anyone notice that Colt certificate says 'Finish: Blue?"

Millet sights. Niiiice.

Magneporting is the ultimate in gayness. A dealer ordered a 454 for me with it and 'assumed I would want it as everyone does' and I had him return it.

I couldn't even make it past the first sentence of the description before my trust in the seller was destroyed.

"We are offering an auction with no Reserve..."

Current Bid $200,050.00 Reserve Not Met

Or better yet, win the auction using a bogus account and arrange to pay the guy in cash in an industrial section of a city after dark. The rest of the plan should be self explanatory.

I like how he determines it is stainless because he hit the metal with a file and therefore it is. WTF, does he have a magic metallurgy file? Now the file that tells you metallurgy might be worth 350K but not that beater of a Colt.

Reserve not met. So instead of having $200K, seller has that beater pistol....

When the auction closes and his reserve isn't met, he'll probably contact the 200k bidder and say "Hey, the auction didn't meet my reserve, but I'm willing to sell it for 210k."

(The 200k bidder is probably his other account though)

Not only that, but taking a file to the gun probably ruined whatever tiny bit of collector value it ever had.

the Millet sights made up for the magna porting.....so it was a wash  hell, he wants to sell it for 350K and then charge 25 bucks shipping......think if I hit "buy now" he will cut the shipping in half??????

Personally I really like the idiot mark on the frame and the screw marks from a long-lost trigger shoe.

The certificate from Colt says that it was shipped to Sewall's Point, VA in 1939, but Sewell's Point was annexed from Norfolk County and incorporated into the City of Norfolk in 1923.

But yeah, that ain't stainless.

What's the "idiot mark" on the frame? Are you talking about the scratch from inserting the slide stop?

Yes, that's commonly referred to as an "idiot mark." Left by someone who tinkered without knowing how to properly reassemble the pistol.

I think ya'll may have hurt the seller's feelings, since the auction's been cancelled.
