Redistribution of Wealth; Warren Court Not Liberal Enough

Post by Hush »

Obama: Redistribution of Wealth; Warren Court Not Liberal Enough.
In this newly uncovered radio interview from 2001, Barack Obama charts a 'reparative' strategy for wealth redistribution: "The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society. And to that extent, as radical I think as people tried to characterize the Warren court, it wasn't that radical. It didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers and the Constitution. At least as it's been interpreted..."

WTF?

Ummmmm, the founding fathers placed those constraints for a reason, and they are not supposed to be "broken free" from... they are supposed to be followed.

Period.

I really hopes this gets some traction. McCain/Palin should be out there just hammering the s--t out of this.

"Change"

What kind of change?

"Change we can believe in."

WTF does that mean? I believe even Hitler made a few changes himself and we all know how that went.

"Redistributive change"

I hate to tell some of you this. but McCain is not too far from this line of thought as well.

Yep, its wrong and I don't think Obama should take the oath, but show me how McCain is not for wealth to be spread around. He has never backed a tax break for any American that I know of before he started running. Now that he is running he wants us to think he is conservative? Whatever.

Vote none of the above.

We have two wings of the same bird of prey. On paper they are not very different from one another and both parties keep moving left as a whole.

We need to return America to the Constitution as it was written and not as its read by lawyers and politicians. It was written for the common man to understand because its a Government for the common man. Not lawyers.

Who voted for the bail out? Was it Obama and not McCain? Who tried to block the Bush tax cuts? Hmmm, who thinks we should block Americans from owning some types of guns? Hmmmm.... Who wanted to block the two Bush SCOTUS picks we got? Hmmm.

Answer, McStain. thats who. The man is only pissed Obama is more left than him.

Stop voting for the evil of two lessors.

Agreed, but for now, the choice is obviously between the lesser of two evils.

and thats what gives us evil and a move to the left no matter how you vote.

the pick is do you want to move to the left via train or by skateboard.

I am voting for Bob Barr. Is he going to win? No, he does not have a shot in hell. But our numbers need to be counted so we can see how many are on our side. We need a head count because things are going to get ugly and its nice to know if we have the power to change things 1776 style at some point.

Republicans just want power as much as Democrats. They dont want smaller government anymore. Bush and congress showed us that.

I completely understand the frustration, disenchantment and feeling disenfranchised. I’m no big McCain fan myself. Sadly, Hillary might have been the closest thing to a conservative in this race. Now that’s scary! I highly disapprove of the mismanagement by the Republican Party, including Bush over recent years. I have friends who like you, are either sitting this one out (allowing Obama a greater chance to win) or voting for Barr (to make a statement, also allowing Obama a greater chance to win). Barr will only draw votes from those who would otherwise vote Republican. I have known Bob and his wife, as well as Newt for years and I greatly respect their knowledge and views, overall. But this is not the hill to die on. Dying on principle, while honorable, is not ultimately wise, from a strategic position of preservation. Yes, I too have little confidence in the recent direction of the G.O.P. but the long-term damage from an Obama presidency will be irreversible. If divided, the conservative vote will only contribute to another Perot type defeat for the Republican candidate, just as Nader brought about for Algore in 2000.

I dont buy that my vote for Barr is going to cost McCain the election when I would not vote socilist no matter what letter they have after their name. The republican party is defunct and needs to be put down. It is filled with too many Trotski types like Bush for me to hold my nose and keep on putting left wing leaders with "R"s after their name. They left me so I can no longer support who they are or what they say they are for. This not the hill to die on. For me this is the hill to fight on. At some point people like you guys who vote for a party blind of the fact they dont represent you, will need to wake up and help take back your country. And stop driving it further down the can by going with a lesser of two evils and then being upset when you get stuck with evil.

If you are a true consertive then let your numbers be counted behind a consertive. And give up on voting for left wing leaders with an "R" after their names.

The good thing about bringing about change "1776 style" is that all these frickin Obamaniacs and socialists are a bunch of sheep. "I'd rather be shot than risk hurting someone with a firearm." No problemo - "BANG" or in the style of this forum "thwup".
