One thing noticable by was the lack of the trademark Bond dry wit in the Daniel Craig movies. The Connery flicks executed it best, and it got a bit cheesier as it went from Moore to Dalton to Brosnan. But it is totally absent with Craig. Action, yes, but the class of Connery is conspicious in its absence. +1 on the shakey cam.

I think it's funny that a lot of people who hated Timothy Dalton's interpretation of Bond love Daniel Craig in the role. Their versions of Bond are very similar. The Living Daylights is second only to Casino Royale IMO.

IMO, Connery set the standard for what Bond was in the film adaptations. As it went from Connery to Moore to Dalton, things became more stiff and wooden compared to Connery. It brightened a bit for Brosnan in the dry wit dept., but he never captured the suave presence of Connery.
In the Craig films, he seems to lack sympathy. Connery may have loved 'em and left 'em, but you still got the sense that he felt something for them.....not so with Craig.

I would give it more like a C+/B-. Definitely not as good as Casino Royale but I still enjoyed watching it. The shaky cam was awful during the opening car chase but not so bad for the rest of the movie. Not enough plot development, but plenty of good action.

Did anyone else have a WTF moment when they randomly zoomed in on that girl's crotch during the final action sequence?

Yeah, that was strange. It's PG-13 so I'm sure she was wearing flesh colored panties.

Finally saw it today. The bit about Vesper's boyfriend was poorly developed and hard to follow, but I enjoyed the film. I thought the fight on the scaffolding was impressive.

I'd give it a "B".

I thought it sucked. I was very disappointed. I also thought the last one was awesome.

D-/F+

I thought that it was absolutely atrocious. Yes the action sequences were good, but that does not make up for absolutely zero plot, and horrible character development. And he didn't even sleep with the hot Bond girl....

Yes, there are worse movies that have been produced in the past (ie, Cabin Boy). But this movie was the worst bond I have ever seen, even more appalling than the worst Brosnan/Bond film.

I surely hope that the next Craig/Bond film will be similar to the CR.

Sure he did! Gemma Arterton is a fox.

I also didn't like it very much. They turned Bond into an Action Hero, and the plot was nearly nonexistant. Casino Royale was 70% Plot/30% Violence, and Quantum of Solace was the opposite.

The new guy (Daniel Craig?) BRINGS THE SUCK.

Casino Royale blew camel nutz. Even the opening sequence (where the credits and stuff are) sucked.

First, the theme song was sung by a fucking dude. That's bullshit. All Bond film theme songs should be sung by hot sounding sultry women.

Second, the opening sequence should have had all kinds of atrsy-physcodelic s--t with lots of naked chicks in silhloette dancing around.

Also, Daniel Craig looks like a g*damn gay porn model. He does. Don't argue, you know I'm right....

The movie also sucked. No double Britsh humor/jokes, no double entandres, no subtle sight gags...

Then Bond falls for a chick and is willing to quit MI6

WTF? Complete bullshit....

All hail Sean Connery, best Bond Ever.

I'd give this movie a B- at worst. I can't agree that it sucked, but I don't think it was fantastic either. Worth watching though.

Worse than Die Another Day? I think Daniel Craig would have to climb out of the screen and urinate directly into my mouth before I would say it was a worse movie than Die Another Day.

I'd have to say it was.

At the end of the movie I felt like I had been given a golden shower by Craig.

Wait.... what?

Yes, I'd pee in Gemma's butt, but the other one was the much hotter one.

In certain shots, the camera angle made Gemma's jawline look identical to the kid from the movie "The Mask". And not the Jim Carey movie....

I enjoyed it, but I have to agree, the plot was lacking, particularly when compared to Casino Royale. My hope is that the next one has a bit more plot in it.
