Cops: Med student uses sword to kill intruder
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32855934/ns ... nd_courts/
BALTIMORE - Baltimore police say a Johns Hopkins University medical student armed with a samurai sword killed an intruder in his garage.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said campus police and an off-duty city officer responding to a call for a suspicious person heard screams to call police around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday.
Guglielmi said the student told the man he found in his garage to leave and the man accosted him.
That's when the student defended himself, Guglielmi said, cutting off the man's hand and causing a severe laceration to his upper body.
The man died at the scene, but police are not yet releasing his name.
Police are interviewing the student and others and are talking to prosecutors about whether to file charges.

No no no. Youve got it all wrong Tyris. Charges was the name of his sword. They're deciding whether to sharpen the sword.............brownroux1 wrote:...Police are interviewing the student and others and are talking to prosecutors about whether to file charges.
Cop basher
What amount of a man is composed of his own collection of experiences... and the conclusions that those experiences have allowed him to "know" for certain as "Truth"? :Ick

Well at least he didn't use his "BOOM STICK!!!".
There is an 11 to 17 minute response time to a 911 call. You can either choose to put effective rounds on target, neutralizing the threat, or try to find a telephone. The person who killed you while you were dialing 911 will have enough time to cook a frozen pizza before the "Badged Historians" show up to draw the chalk line.

I've always sort of hoped somebody would break into my house so I could use my swords on them. Sort of a secret fantasy.
I don't know about today's "commonly available" swords, but the two I have, would easily lop off a hand, I mean without even really trying.
Way to go, make that guy think about his impending death before it actually happens. Bleed out dirtbag!

Cold Steel has this promo DVD where they're cutting all sorts of crazy s--t testing their blades.
Awesome DVD! I have no doubt one of those swords of any sort wouldn't wreck an intruder... and they are not that pricey.

Yeah, the ones I have are pretty old. One is from a Japanese officer from WWII, pretty common design if you check the history of them. The other is really old, my grand parents brought them both back from when they were stationed there after the war.pneumagger wrote:real katanas... even some half-assed ones are sharp as hell.MicroGuy wrote:I've always sort of hoped somebody would break into my house so I could use my swords on them. And the edge is unreal. Like something that big, could be, and stay, that sharp after all those years.
If you take the handle off, you can see Japanese lettering stamped on the tang. Supposed to tell who made it, for whom it was made, and when, maybe where. Maybe some short saying also. But I've never figured out what they said.
