Apparently cheap green lasers have crappy IR filters and thus you could potentially blind yourself, the risk is low but it's interesting.

Interesting article. However, it would also be interesting to know whether the other two laser pointers with lower IR emissions did have an infrared filter in them. All we know is that the highest IR emission one of the 3 didn't have an infrared filter. If the others did have the filter then it would be a big marketing point for them.
You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time...and those are pretty good odds.
