Kahr Arms WTF?
This totally pimped-out pistol is listed as factory new. Anybody else notice something odd about the rear sight? Is this the sort of thing Kahr usually puts out, or is it more likely the retailer dropped this thing?

It is ported. That means toss it in the trash.
Re: Kahr Arms WTF?
Given the sellers grand total of 7 feedback and the looks of the pistol, I'd bet that pistol did not come from the factory like that and has been Sigfucked by some gunsmith.

This IS Khar Arms we are talking aobut...Yes that probably is factory.
The only thing that they have done that I have wanted ( because it didn't exist) was to redesign the M1 Thompson to take a drum.

I actually sent the guy an inquiry. I asked him if it had been test fired at the factory, as the rear sight position was unnerving. His reply was just that yes, he believes it was test fired at the factory. Absolutely no reference to the rear sight that is half-way to Kansas. I was certainly not reassured.

If you turn it 90 deg to the left and assume the Gangsta shooting position, the sight is already compensated.

I own and carried a Glock 20C for quite some time. For me, the porting helped in many ways, but it wasn't all hunky dory.silencertalk wrote:Ported barrels are hella ghetto to the max.
Wouldn't you agree that it is more appropriate to allow the user to weigh the advantages/disadvantages against one another rather than say it is simply bad?

I liked that quote so much I put it in my sig. Mostly, because of the 'lingo' and the source.
As for why one shouldn't get a compensated pistol, I've always heard the line about the flash making you night-blind after one shot in a defensive situation. I've never fired a compensated pistol in the dark so I can't say if that is a problem or a bit of fiction.

It looks to me like the front sight is offset in the same direction too. Not as badly as the rear though.

No, no. It is better to lump them all into one shitbag.smcharchan wrote:I own and carried a Glock 20C for quite some time. For me, the porting helped in many ways, but it wasn't all hunky dory.silencertalk wrote:Ported barrels are hella ghetto to the max.

Re: Kahr Arms WTF?
Unless Kahr pistols no longer operate in the manner I remember, I see that barrel porting causing some issues.

... how are we having a discussion about the usefulness of PORTED barrels on a SUPPRESSOR forum?
