Cat's don't do this:

Post by silencertalk »

Dumb drunk woman passed out on the train tracks. Dog pulls her off and saves her. Dog is hit by train. I feel bad for the dog. Not clear it was worth the injury to the dog to save someone who passes out from drinking on train tracks.

Is this a justification for your dislike of cats? Cats have nothing to do with the article. In fact, cats are not even mentioned. What is the point of this story?

The point is that dogs can do amazing things. In fact, I find this story hard to believe. How would a dog know to move someone off tracks? How would it know that the train follows metal rails?

Maybe the dog dragged her off the tracks during his attempt to eat her... and she was saved when the train hit the ravenous mongrel. The Union Pacific saves another life!

The lady was the dogs owner, I doubt she was going to wait until she passed out on train tracks to decide to eat her. A cat might have waited til she was hit and then come eat what was left. +1 for the Pit Bull!!! Great Dogs!

Maybe she passed out off the tracks, and the dog just stood on the tracks and got hit. I think that is more likely than the dog knew to remove her from the tracks due to an approaching train.

Either way... dogs are just awesome.

I'd like to see a cat do this:

Cats eat small children. All those kids on milk cartons? Cats to blame.

I like cats because they are killing machines. Dogs don't have that mindset.

A cat would have waited for the train to cut her up, then eat her.

The cat talked the poor woman into drinking so much and then told her that the winning lottery ticket was on the track bed. Then knowing that the stupid dog would try to save her, was in actuality, hoping both the woman AND the dog would die.

Cat's are devious, sly creatures, that enjoy plotting their owners demise.

Yep, that's why we no longer have any quail in our area. The "cat people" moved in and turned loose all their damn cats. The common house cat does not belong in North America and should NEVER be allowed out in the "wild".

You're buying the wrong kind of dogs.

Invest in terriers they live to search and destroy but you can teach them tricks and they are more likely to answer a whistle.

I saw this the other day and thought to myself "what are the odds".

Not because the dog saved a life but because I have a pitbull named Lilly. And on top of that she looks identical to the one in the story. Glad to see the dog is going to make it.

My cats don't pee all over the floor when I come home.

My girlfriend has a cat and i have a chocolate lab. The cat is ok, he's kind of an asshole, but he just does his own thing and plays with my dog, so it is what it is. He is funny to watch when he gets riled up, and he finds some strange places to sleep.

I think the real issue here is "why are dogs actively working to ensure that idiots who shouldn't survive, survive?"
Why are dogs trying to weaken the human genepool? This woman should have died through misadventure and bad judgement, thus preventing her from passing on her fucked-up-irresponsible-societally-destructive alcoholic's genes.

Why should we be happy about a dog interupting that process?

My dog saved my life from a cottonmouth. My cat shat on my bed, twice.

I still have the dog.
