SWR HEMS II

Post by dirt »

Looking for support to include pistons threaded for other calibers (.40 and 9mm) also a fixed barrel adapter threaded in 5/8x28. I noticed that SWR makes them for other suppressors. I ordered my suppressor over a year ago and at the time had asked Henry if there would be something available he said keep checking the website because it was in the works. I call all every couple months Henry will not return my phone calls anymore. If i hadn't already bought this suppressor (keep in mind I have never even shot it yet) I would never do business with SWR or Silencerco again. Thanks SWR.

I know they never did anything for 5/8-24.

I didn't know they even made a 1/2x28 piston, would have saved me from adding one to my list to make for my HEMS.

SWR never offered a 5/8-24 FM or a 1/2x28 piston for the HEMS 2. There was a 9/16x24 piston but those haven't been available for quite a while. I have some new old stock .45 pistons (16LH, 16RH, and .578) but that is it. I have been told we are planning on supporting the HEMS 2 in the future but at the moment we are swamped trying to keep up with our current production items.

Dirt,

Sorry you had a bad experience, if you would like to PM me about it I will see what I can do to change your mind about SWR. Thanks

I'd wager he can change your mind if you take him up on the offer. Your in a super small club if you have had problems with SWR that were not corrected. I've never bought from them but i can tell you they are on my "futures" list for the sole reason that there are so many customers have spoke well about them and how they handle customer service.

When I was part of SWR we made One (1) - 1/2x28 piston for the HEMSII.

I wanted to test 9mm through it and the HEMS-CT.

I still have it.

Well after months of being pissed and not even checking this site looks like I had responses. I still have yet to receive my suppressor. Not SWR' s fault. I live in Louisiana and we have to go through the state before the ATF. I talked to Andrew today and was told they were too busy at the time and are not currently supporting anything they sold. But he was nice enough to send me on my way to Matt with Stalking Rhino Industries. Matt I should say is a very nice person to deal with and is tooling up to support certain older models. Thanks Andrew. Matt, I will be in touch thank you.

Folks, I really hate to see this happening too!

I am in the same situation as dirt. I have a like new HEMS 2 with the 578 piston. I would also like to find a couple of the pistons for different platforms since it seems that no further factory support is available.

We are tooling up to start providing these parts for the Trident/HEMS/GS40. They are coming.

What would be awesome is an Octane45 upgrade for the HEMS II! Even if the same booster assy was used(since we all probably have multiple pistons). To jail break and install an Octane45 baffle stack shouldn't be too difficult? This was disscussed at shot show and I have been eagerly waiting to send more $$$ to SWR !!! :D

Last I checked the Octane45 baffles will not fit in a HEMS tube.

Both the SWR/HEMS II and Octane 45 tube diameters are listed as 1.375". The Octane 45 length is .250" longer @ 8.50". The last baffle could be modified to fit HEMS II tube, length wise. The same booster assy used. Be a great solution for guys that don't want to wait a year to go through the NFA process again. That's the cliff notes version of the conversation I had with Mike Pappas at the shot show this year except he suggested possibly changing the booster as well! Since I have multiple pistons for different applications already I would prefer to simplify the process with CTA baffle stack and new end cap. Every HEMS II owner I know would send their cans in for upgrade! Let's make it happen!!!

We will be, we are getting tooled up now so we can start producing them in bulk. We will be doing HEMS2, Trident, GS40 pistons in all of the thread pitches that SWR offered and some others that we have been asked to produce!

Is a HEMII hearing safe shot dry on a 9mm?
If it doesn't splatter, shatter, burst or explode, it's not worth shooting.

Doesn't bother my ears, louder than a Trident though.

Do the Trident mounts fit the HEMSII? I can't believe I did not try that when I had both.

I'm glad you are making new mounts for the old SWR stuff.

If the BATFE ever gives me my HEMSII back, I'll would like to get a 1/2 x28 fixed mount and 1/2 x 28 piston for it.
