Sell me on the Specwar 762

Post by Will_M »

Trying to make a final decision on a 762 can. I need a good "do-all" can for my 223 AR's and eventually a bolt gun in the future.

Will the extra 4oz and 1.5" over the competitors be noticeable? How viable is the Specwar on a "precision" bolt gun?

Have your local dealer do a demo for you.

All the dealers in my state have lacking inventory. The closest one is the only one who does demos as well and he only has a few AAC cans to try.

The Specwar 7.62 is a very well performing 300RUM rated can. The level of suppression it offers on the 30cal cartridges is top tier and it will work very well on the smaller bore stuff as well. It might be a touch longer and heavier than some of the other cans on the market but they offer a different feature set. The Specwar was designed to be extremely rugged and as versatile as possible. If you get a chance to shoot one it will sell itself.

What state are you in? Check around for other dealers in your area .Their dealer locator seems jacked up on the web site.

What's the min barrel length for the 7.62? Same as 5.56 or different? I guess this changes depending on 5.56 or 300 RUM so whatever info you have is appreciated.

So, the Specwar 762 is NOT okay to use on a 8.2" - 12.5" 300 BLK SBR?

300Blk is a completely different animal. The Specwar 7.62 will be fine on a 8.2" 300Blk setup.

I use our Demo Specwar 762 on a 308 bolt, 8.5" 300BLK AR, 16" 556 AR, and 16" 300BLK bolt. It is a great can. No accuracy issues that I can tell but I don't shoot over 200m. For plinking I don't see any noticeable difference in the feel of the additional 1.5", there is a difference in the suppression of a smaller can. If you will be doing tactical training or field work I would get a dedicated 556.
