Harvester with 308

Post by samson7x »

Can anyone tell me what a 308 meters with the Harvester? I know they list 21-34dB reduction range according to the various calibers it accommodates. I'm only interested in 308 at the moment and would like to pick one up if it is more toward the 34 end of that spectrum.

I have a feeling that the '34' end of the spectrum is .300BLK. I'd expect any supersonic round to be in the 23-27dB range.

OK we have an actual .308 reading for you. Sorry it has taken so long.

I'd like to see a comparison at the "shooters ear" (maybe of the Saker and the Harvester)
With the brake at the end of the silencer, I'd expect that it would meter louder at the muzzle (directing gasses and noises right towards the mic).

Vette, I image that it was 168dB. That's typical, but powder would make a difference.

I agree w chris. Overall sound at Shooter's ear and 10m to side would probably meter better w a "finned muzzle device." Spreading the gas volume over a larger surface area should cause less atmospheric compression wave, but would direct some waves toward the mic at 1m side.
