Will I need new sights for my P226 when using an Octane 9 HD?

New member here.

I have a German made P226 and have just ordered an Octane 9 HD. I'm curious if I should take advantage of the long wait to send the gun off to have taller sights installed? Does the Octane interfere with the sight picture on the P226? I doubt I would be able to sight thru the suppressor, due to eye issues.

If there is interference, I would appreciate suggestions on sights that would work. Night sights would be nice but if they start dimming after a few years & change out is complicated, then I would stay away. I understand some have changed the sights themselves but seems like it is not the easiest thing in the world & requires special tools. Since this will be a one time event for me, I think sending the gun off would be best for me. Plus if I send it off, would probably let them install the SRT.

Sig sights are very low profile. If you can't shoot with both eyes open, you will need tall sights.

Night sights will dim in around 10-12 years and then they are just regular sights.

You can buy an inexpensive sight pusher here: http://www.sightpusher.com/Handgun-Sight-Tool.html
Get the standard one for $60 and you'll be good to go with just about any handgun you have. It's probably cheaper than sending the gun off to have sights installed. I've used that tool on my Sigs, Glocks, and 1911's.
Your choice though. If you want the SRT, then sending it to Sig and getting the sights done at the same time would be a good idea.

For tall sights, Ameriglo makes tall night sights, model SG-181.

Everything he just said or a red dot. Still need the sight pusher to prepare for the red dot or a vise, a rod and a hammer.

If I send to Sig, looks like their only sight option is their Siglite. Don't think I want a night sight so do y'all have a recommendation for sights that would see over the Octane 9?

#70966 is for SIG.

The set I put on my M&P is considerably taller than the OE set.

That is more what I think I'd like, assuming they are tall enough to see over the Octane? Anyone know for sure if these would work?

I don't need night sights but do use fiber optics, like this, on my Buck Mark.

Anything taller is fine.

It doesn't take much additional height to clear the suppressor on the P226

Worst case send him an email and ask exactly how tall they are so you can compare it to the siglites.

Taller night sighs worked very nicely for me.
