I own a SilencerCo Octane 45K. I just ordered a 7.5" 9mm AR.
I have a 9mm Piston for my 9mm pistols. I also have a 3/4X24 Direct Thread Mount for 300BLK.
For my new 7.5" 9mm AR Pistol Caliber Carbine...
- Should I get a 1/2x24 Direct Thread mount? ($70)
- Will a fixed barrel spacer in the 9mm piston work just as well? ($60)
Obviously this won't be a long-range accuracy weapon. It'll be a 50 yard and in, CQB/Gaming Gun. Will the direct thread mount be just easier to clean, or will leaving the piston in (with the fixed spacer) make cleaning easier?

Using a fixed barrel spacer will help keep the piston housing from fouling.
