Octane HD, how often do you clean?

Hello all

How many rounds are some of you putting through an Octane before you clean the baffles? Just take it apart every few hundred rounds and look at it to see if it needs cleaned yet? Wait until carbon is bad enough to "need" it? Dont want to seize it up, but dont want to over clean either.

I usually clean the baffles about 500 rd in my stainless steel pin tumbler.

Honestly, other than clean and lube the booster portion, I've never once cleaned my Octane's baffles.
I clean and lube the booster portion after every use, regardless of round count. The same as I'd do for the firearm's barrel.

What he said unless you are running a ton of rimfire through it.

I've got an Octane 45K. I shoot it almost exclusively on my AR-9 "pistol". Probably 1000 rounds down range since I cracked it open. Reminds me, I ought to check it out!
