How much longer is 1/2x28 XL piston than regular piston?

Post by cs78 »

I have a beretta 92 centurion model. The barrel is .62 inches longer than the regular 92. I believe the XL piston was created for the 92. I was thinking the regular 1/2x28 would absorb some of that .62” allowing me to get a threaded 92 barrel for my gun. Otherwise I think I will have to get a normal 92 barrel and pay someone to cut and thread it. Has anyone dealt with this issue?

Why not just use a threaded 92 barrel in it? Then its properly sized for the can threads?

Thats one thought but now I am reading that the longer barrel can cause timing issues with the gun.

.50" versus .62" length will not cause any issues

What sources are saying that a longer barrel will create problems with the timing?
