Silencerco...A class act....again! A+

Post by Fireman1291 »

So a couple weeks ago I was shooting my Osprey9, Osprey45, and Tirant9 out in my backyard and my Osprey9 sounded a tad louder than usual. Ive always used it on my HK9SD and I have over 2500 rounds through it. (misc winclean, fiocchi 158, etc)

I sent Josh a quick email explaining that my early serial number Osprey(serial under 15) may be getting louder. He replied in less than 10 minutes and demanded I mail it to them so they could look at it. Of course I took him up on his offer and mailed it out.

Upon arrival they metered the can and they said it metered fine but that they went ahead and updated the core/endcap to the new version that doesnt use the pins to hold the endcap to the core. The core itself is the same as is the performance, they just redesigned the endcap and front of the core early on so they could rid the front cap of those pins.

They even took the time to email me a picture of my old core so i could see what "build up" i was dealing with with 2500rds and gel/water/grease......none....I cant see any buildup from the picture. It speaks for itself, its a great design!

Image

And here is the old/new front cap differences for those that dont know. This is my Osprey45 with a serial above 500 next to my Osprey9 with serial lower than 15.

Image

So my Osprey has been at Silencerco for one day and I just got an email from Josh saying its all refreshed and on its way back to me. You just can't beat Silencerco's customer service. They stand behind their product 100% and dont F-around, its a simple as that.

8)

Note: Ive come to the conclusion that my Osprey9 sounded louder that day from one of two things, ammo or weak recoil spring on the Hk letting the breach open a fraction of a second too early. Thats my guess.

SilencerCo rocks! Thats fantastic customer service!

When deciding what to get as my first suppressor past customers experiences and opinions had a ton to do with what suppressor I decided on. So, now Im waiting for 2 SilencerCo suppressors, a SS 22Sparrow & 9Osprey and I couldnt possibly be more excited. Great suppressors & outstanding customer service, the perfect combo.

My 9Osprey's serial number is below #250 and it already has the updated endcap.

Waiting sucks so bad! Atleast I get weekly visitation rights when I stop by my local Class3.

Hmm... I think I have the old endcap on my 9Osprey, numbered 150. Does it make a difference? :?

No. The suppression is the same. They just updated the end cap so they could rid it of the pins.

There is a slight difference in the 2 cores...(I have had both) But no dB difference. (to aid in mfg. maybe?)

Wow!

I just got my Osprey back.....im speechless. The finish is 100% perfect, new core, blast baffle, front tube, end cap....the only part thats original is the serialized tube. Plus a new piston, pouch and sticker pack.

As previously stated. NOBODY comes close to the level of commitment Silencerco has for its customers. :P

Congrats! Thats 1st rate service!

Maybe you should do a new Youtube video featuring all of your SilencerCo items? Im a subscriber ya know, lol. Maybe a sit down type review in which you could let us know your opinions and observations since youve had them for a bit now. That would be sweet. I need more media to hold me over until my Sparrow and Osprey are approved.

Happy....try elated

So its been raining here for a couple days and I just hit up the gym and on my way back I felt like testing out my newly refreshed osprey.....A suppressed pistol and camera in the truck evolved into this. Hopefully it stops raining soon.

You can see in the video clip the silencer unscrewing .. THIS is one big advantage to the Osprey design.. It is very easy to see and catch it before there is a problem. Cool Video!

Also...a small thing like they do not roll off the bench/table. All the little things start to add up and become meaningful..

I bought from Silencerco because of the great design and the customer service. I have a baffle strike on my 45 Osprey and someday I might send it in and if I do I know there is a great support group there to help me out.

Should of kept my mouth shut but there is no need to send it back. Small nick in the last baffle and I hammered the front plate back so no worries!! Still works and sounds great on my Mark 23.

Lol! Just let them fix it, im sure it bothers them even if it wasn't related to a defect/their fault. They'll get it fixed and mailed back the same day so it's not like you'll be without it long.

It might be good to send it back.. If the tube alignment is off they will fix it and prevent more damage from happening in the future.

I had a slight alignment issue with my early Serial # 45 Osprey... It is now fixed and shoots much better (I was getting slight contact at the endcap. When I did some measurements I discovered the "tube" was a tad off.

It was rebuilt to the new design and now it;s perfect.

Well worth the week and 1/2 to get it there, fixed, and back.
