POI Shift for 45 Osprey?

Post by Danomite45 »

What are you folks getting for a Point of Impact shift on your Ospreys?

I have attached a photo of a target.
I'm shooting a Glock 21 at 15 yards.

the bottom group is with the factory barrel
the middle is with a Storm Lake barrel
and the top group is with the 45Osprey attached.
Image

when shooting at 25 yards, shots are off target, unless I aim over the top left shoulder.

What are your thoughts??

Yeah, that's not good. My POI went WAY high on my 45 Tactical, and the adjustable sights won't go any lower, so it still shoots high. I was aiming at center mass and getting head shots at 15 yards. THAT bad. On a 45 Tactical Compact, POI was still high and left, though only about five inches.

Is this an issue from hosts or from the barrels? Im really considering an osprey 45 so it would be interesting to see if thats the issue.

Do you have an HK TActical to do the same test with? I'm more than happy to do a similar test with mine, but I do not have the Ransom rest to use.

That'd be great. I was amazed at the shift with both of my pistols, but it seemed worse with the full size Tactical.

Mike... LMAO... That music is the BEST... "Bewitched" ... "Leave it to Beaver".. or some Ads in the 60's??

Where is the music from?

It was perfect.. as you were "speed walking" (another fantastic touch) through the plant to you range.. I can't think of better background music...

A+++

I want to work with you guys.

I run an osprey on two guns only at the moment, a sig 1911, and a .300BLK, but I dont get any shift with the 1911 whatsoever, and 1" high at 100yds with the BLK.

No change in point of impact on any of three I run my Osprey45 on. Hits the same with and without the can on. FNP45 Tactical, Sig 220, Springfield Armory 1911.

All the damn thing does is make me load more ammo.
Thanks Silencerco

I initially did have a poi shift on my Osprey mounted to a HK mark 23, the rounds were just barely kissing the bottom of a baffle. I sent it back to SilencerCo they fixed it in about a week and sent it back. Now i have absolutely 0 shift with the suppressor on or off, shooting 230gr JHP reloads.

You will love it. It is, to me, the best .45 can ever made. I love mine more than any other can.

We are not going to make pistol cans because I love the Osprey's so much. I want to sell people the best can for the money. In the case of 9/45 that is the osprey. Sure Id love to have their money, but when they ask for the best it wont be made by me.

Thanks for making an awesome can! Love it! It has blown everyone away that has shot it thus far. Its costing me a pretty penny though, since everyone I let shoot it decides they need to shoot 5 or 6 mags to really hear how good it sounds.
