Called ATF today on my SPECWAR 7.62, check cashed 8 November 2013, went pending 18 December 2013, was told to expect approval @ October 2014!

I wouldn't get too down about it, I was told July and August on 3 of mine, and I got them back a few days ago.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Paper F4 Trust
Check cashed 9/19/13
Pending 10/25/13
Approved 5/17/14
Octane 45 went home 5/22/14

7 months wait time from pending...not too shabby. Funny thing is I called for a status check on 5/7 and was told I'd be approved by August. 10 days later it got approved. Gotta love their hopelessness tactics. It makes the "early" surprise all the more enjoyable.

Electronic Form 1 Trust
Pending: 8/6/14
Approved: 8/27/14
Examiner: Sandra J. Snook

21 days from filing the electronic application to approval. Now if only Form 4s were as fast.

They are speeding up. The following were all paper for a LLC/Corp.

Form 4- sent in late November, two full months until pending, six more months for approval.

Form1 (x2)- Sent in early April, three weeks until pending, four months for approval.

Bottom line for me, three stamps in one week!

I submitted a form 1 on a Trust. It was mailed out 5-27-14, approved 8-30 and arrived in the mail 9-6

a tick over 3 months from doorstep to doorstep on a paper form. Never had it so good! It took me so much by surprise that I have nothing ready for the build.

I am in the same boat, just got my paper form 1 for a 9mm build back in a little over 3 months. I am scrambling to finish design at this point! E-form 1 was just over 3 WEEKS. Form 1s (even paper) are getting really fast, comparatively...

How does one contact the ATF and ask when they should expect their form? What information do I need to provide?

I had my dealer submit the form for me so I need to know what specific info I need to ask from him, before I call them.

They'll simply ask for the serial#, your name, and the dealer's name.

I'm shocked after seeing people get their stamps in 6-8 months! My dealer sent out 2 Form 3's for suppressors on 10/29/13, and they still haven't been approved!

My dealer has called the distributor every month, and they always say they're just waiting on the ATF.

Have my doubts about your dealer. I buy from all the distributors never had an any take more than 12 weeks.

Mailed a form 1 and a form 4 in the middle of May. The F1 was approved the end of August and the F4 was approved the end of September.
Times are definitely way down. When I called about the F4, I was told I would have it back by March. I'll take it 5 months sooner.
Also I noticed that the 2 forms were approved by different examiners. All my other forms were by the same examiner. Maybe that means there are more now than there use to be....
