Rocker,

Good show!!! Glad to hear that you finally have it in hand. Is a relief I'm sure.

My last Form 1s took 292 days from check cashing to receipt of the stamp. Currently waiting for Form 4 that has been out 304 days since the check was cashed.

Going to submit the last two Form 4s ... but the dealer won't do an e-filiing so may not clear this year. Arghhh!!!

I have written my Senators and Congressman as well but I doubt it will go anywhere. First of all the volume of complaints wont be enormous...secondly, its not a very popular political agenda for an elected official to publicly get behind.
I have decided NOT to buy based on the current wait times
Not sure this is the right answer. I have a friend who refuses to get into the NFA game because he doesn't want to have his money tied up. I hate waiting because I'm like a child BUT you never get it if you refuse to start the wait. Just find a dealer that will do E-forms as they are taking 1/3-1/4 the amount of time to approve.

ericlw,

Silencer shop had it in stock. They e-filed the Form 4 for their customer ... apparently early in the e-filing system.

The guy was very fortunate indeed!

He is one of the lucky ones. I would have had mine by December, if they had e-filed like I was led to believe. Oh well, June is right around the corner.

My buddy had his eForm filed Nov 30, and they called him Feb 28 to pick it up. LESS than 3 months.

I filed my Form1 Dec 7 and haven't seen a status change yet.

I submitted my Form 4 in December via snail mail. 8 weeks processing time. Pending of as of Feb 14 (ATF must love me, they gave me a Valentine's Day gift). Lady on phone said 9 months from pending.

Apparently arbitrarily adding months to approval times is SOP. Checked status in January, and was told one date, checked today, and got 3 months added. WTF? At this rate, I won't get them by hunting season.

One problem with the blanket wait time estimate is that there are individual regions with various backlogs. So a 10-month wait time for Texas probably won't translate into a similar wait time in North Dakota or Oregon.

Now that the e-Forms channel has dried up, that volume will shift over to the pile of paper forms and so it's reasonable to expect that overall average to increase for awhile, anyway.

Supposedly, they aren't regionally assigned anymore, but that is just info I got from my dealer.

eForms being down is a double edged sword for me. I have 3 on paper, and 2 e-filed, no telling when I'll get any of them now.

Seems about right. All my recent approved forms are from different examiners so who knows.
