Another. The LAW says that if you move to another state, you have to inform ATF of the new location your silencer is kept.
Actually, it does not say anything about silencers or AOWs. But your point holds true with MGs, SBRs, SBSs, and DDs.

I got three 5320.20's back today.

1. Filed as a joke really. I used the latitude and longitude coordinates of the Canadian border with Washington south to the latitude coordinate of the Oregon border @ Lat: 48.| Long: -124.34 to Lat:48. Long: -117.12 south to Lat:45.70378 encompassing the entire state of Washington. At no time did I believe they would approve that one. It came back Approved..

2. I filed one that was just an area across the river where I shoot a lot . It has no street address so I used the GPS coordinates. The examiner called me last to inform me that they did not accept lat and long coordinates. I told her to forget about it and she asked me to send her an email formally requesting that the form be dropped. I did. Came in the mail today approved.

3. One for my dads house. Thats the only one I thought would actually go through and of course it did.

Several people have tried. Many have been approved then revoked. Theres a few hundred pages on Arfcom about it but as everything arfcom its painfully hard to read. What it boils down to is the wording of the GCA and the FOPA are such that trusts are not persons and its persons that are banned from new MG builds. Occasionally a Form 1 is approved to build a MG on a trust and then rescinded rather quickly once the supervisor catches wind of it. It sounds like the word has spread enough now so that it doesnt happen much but two years ago a few hundred had been approved then unapproved. In any case theres a lawyer who is trying to push a case through the courts. Last I heard it was losing as you'd expect and MAYBE moving on to the district court of appeals level. Could be years for anything to happen. Might not happen at all. Lawsuits take money and plaintiffs with standing who want to joust with windmills. I have half a mind to make myself one of those people who get turned down just so I can have standing in case some magic happens even to those who applied and got turned down before the wording is changed.
