SBR Denial

I applied to SBR my first rifle last December and received a denial today. I applied to use a lower from DRD Tactical, which was in the system. Under the drop down boxes for the model and caliber were options that didn't exactly correspond to my rifle so I chose the best fit since I couldn't add or change what they had. I submitted it with AR15, as opposed to the CDR-15 stamped on mine, and the only caliber was 5.56, where mine is 300blk with the receiver marked " MULTI".

Today I received an email requesting a photo of my lower and after submitting it I received an email that it's disapproved for listing the wrong model and my tax is being refunded. Nothing was mentioned about the caliber, mind you. From what I'd read, I thought you could make corrections without submitting a new form and tax stamp fee? I plan to ask guidance on how to complete the form since it doesn't have appropriate options in the drop down menus, but if anyone else has run into this any advice would be appreciated.

Write an Email to [email protected]. and tell him what's happened. He's been very helpful for me and others in the past.

I hope Gary can help. I actually left him a message today.

Theres a check box that says "My item description is not in the list, create new item.". Once you click this you put in the correct info.

Corrections can't be made because it was an e-form, that's what my denial email states. Just create a new form with the correct model #, and follow these directions: https://www.guntrustlawyer.com/2014/07/ ... orm-i.html

Got mine approved within the day, not another 4 month wait. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I emailed the examiner on it, Jesse Huff, and explained what happened. He went in and added the options I needed so it wouldn't have to go into research, then told me to send him my new control number after I reapplied. The new application was approved less than 24 hrs after the original was denied. The system sucks but customer service is great.

The same thing happened to me. I was SBR'ing a Spike's Tactical lower and listed the model as "AR-15" instead of "ST-15". It was denied, I called the examiner and chatted with him. I reapplied and e-mailed the new application number, it was approved the following morning. I commend them for their effort!

I was disapproved last week for forgetting to fill in reason box. I submitted a new form at 2pm and emailed Gary and gave him the control #'S. I got an email for my approval around midnight

Jesse did the same for me but it only took 2 hours.
