9 months now

Post by vaeevictiss »

So i efiled a form 1 can on a trust on 6/30/16 and still nothing. It's this normal? Going by nfa tracker it looks like the majority of them are going through in 180 days.

There's even a bunch in July and August that have been approved already. Do these ever slip through? Should I call to inquire? Ive gotten no emails either saying there's a problem.

You filed right before 41f and you're surprised? Hang in there another month and if it's not for by then, call. The ATF form 1/4 process is not FIFO, there's still June applications being processed.

What's mostly bothering me is the fact that forms that were filed in July and August have been approved already.

Take NFATracker with a grain of salt. It's better to read the forum updates than to look at the chart. Plus, if I put in an efiled Form1, it shows almost exactly 270 days. Read the forum. On Friday, people were reporting approvals of 6/28 submissions. Your 6/30 is close. The comment about 41F is dead on. The closer the control numbers get to 7/13, the slower things are gonna get.

Mine (submitted in May) just came back after 9 1/2 months.

They are processed by different examiners, and some work less slowly than others.

I am waiting on a purchase I made 4/28/16. Form 4 trust. Not my first can, and having a hard tim believing it can take this long.

NFATrackers forum has Form4's from first week of June being processed now. Did your dealer have it in stock? When was your check cashed?

Can was in stock and check was cashed months ago. I knew there was a mad rush to purchase before July, but I didn't think it add this much waiting time....... ARGGG

My most recent stamp was from a purchase (Form 3 -> Form 4) on 5/18/16, check cashed 6/18/16, stamp approved 3/14/17 and stamp received at my FFL 3/20/17.

In case this helps you guys timing wise, I just got 2 tax stamps (finally!) this past week. One was for an SBR from 6/29/16 and the paper work is stamped approved 3/13/17. The other tax stamp was for a suppressor from 5/5/16 and approved 3/14/17. They both just arrived to me a few days ago.

They're filtering back in. I'm about ready to file another so I can see if wait times have come down

Quiettime, nice to see July forms coming back. Anyone have a guess how many forms were submitted after July 13th? I have a feeling once we get through the pre41f forms times will plummet fast for a short time until people start figuring the wait times are quick then go right back up again.

The new way?

You mean e-filing them?

Yeah, it's not going to matter.

SilencerShop alone filed 250,000 Form 4s just before the deadline.

I just got back my last thing I put on my trust before the law changed
I sent the paperwork in 2 days before the end date. So it too 1 year and 2 months.
It's absolutely ridiculous. If we can do 4473 background checks and under 10 minutes we should be able to get these background checks done in less than a week. We should honestly be able to get it done in less than a day but given that it's the federal government and all of those jobs will be nice and give them a week so they can keep their jobs of doing the exact same thing that most people do in under 5 minutes.
