Post 41p wait time estimates?

I was wondering if any of you folks had an estimate on NFA wait times after pre 41P submissions are processed?

I've heard of form 1s being approved in two months! Granted this was back in 2010 evidently.

OK, here's (one) of the things many people don't really discuss, and it's a pretty big one.

The fact is, NFA still hasn't even processed all of the pre 41 forms from last June. I have two friends that are in the pre 41 pile and in excess of 13 months and still waiting.

So, even if they have processed all of the pre-41 forms, guess what.

Critical thinking says there is still at least 14 months of applications they still haven't even touched yet.

And approving a years worth of applications in 2 months?

C'mon.

Most recently, I've heard of an October '16 form being processed.
With that being said, yes, they're still processing forms from 5/16, if that makes any sense.
Apparently, the ATF/NFA has received more help and the pile is not necessarily being pulled from "the top".

Realistically, I think it will be a while (at least 6 months) before processing times become reasonable.

How long was the wait pre 41p? My friend has 6 stamps, but his most recent one was approved two years ago. He said he got a stamp back in 2011 approved in several weeks! My first form 1 was submitted December of last year

My first three suppressors took about 8-10 weeks.

My first stamp (f1 sbr) took 5 weeks door to door.

Granted, that was in 2004 submitted 3 days after the AWB died. There wasn't much demand for nfa then, and most people thought stuff like that was illegal anyway.

Subsequent times have been about 8 weeks for the 2nd sbr-2006, 12 weeks for the first silencer 2008, 4.5 months 2nd silencer 2009, 8 months f4 machinegun 2008, 5 months f1 silencer 2016, 12 months 3 weeks f1 silencer 2017.

My friend got back 2 stamps this morning that were in excess of 13 months submitted pre41.

So, as you can see, my experience says that wait times have been growing with every passing year. There have been a few peaks and valleys, but overall, wait times get longer every time I submit one.

Beginning of 2015 I had an F1 back in 28days, efiled.

It'll get back to a reasonable time-frame. But, it's going to be a bit. File now and they'll be back, sooner than later

Nothing takes longer than the approval on a form never submitted.

That's why the question is stupefiingly pointless to me.

In the time it takes to research how long it takes to get an approval the approval time effectively got longer.

Just quit yapping and whining about it and file the damn form already.

On second thought, it'll just gum up the works for decisive people who actually want a silencer to it's better to wait, maybe a couple years.
