open bolts are fairly loud but this can more than makes up for it...
twice the size of an Mk9k and with a lot less noise
I'd say buy the SMG of your choice and then invest in a nice can (this one's home made...as they say, if you want something done right, build your own)
robino.....who's can are you using? I'm looking to get one for my full size Uzi.

I find it odd that you guys are saying the MP5 is more quiet than a 9mm AR setup. My 9mm AR is significantly more quiet than my MP5 clone. Both with a Trident-9. The MP5 clone even has a 3 extra inches of barrel. Both setups using a 3-lug. The bolt *clack* on the MP5 seems downright excessive compared to the AR.
...it sucks because I bought the clone just for the suppressor since I heard how quite they were.
Am I doing something wrong here?

Is that bolt "clack" actually cocking tube support rattle from a incorrectly located detent.CKxx wrote:I find it odd that you guys are saying the MP5 is more quiet than a 9mm AR setup. I'd venture to guess it is.
It is a cohaire CA89 that I SBR'd. It is definitely rolled-locked.
I do still have the stock (plastic) cocking tube support, but it does stay forward on its own. How would I know if the detent is in some way located incorrectly?
EDIT: Now that I am fiddling with it I may see what you mean. The CT support is able to wiggle fore and aft about 0.3 inches. If it were to slide backwards that 0.3 inches with every recoil, the bolt, upon returning home, would whack it forward making a high/hollow noise like the one I'm hearing. Next time I shoot the gun I try holding that still with my thumb and see what happens.
Also, I have an A2 stock w/no buffer. Would a buffered A3 stock help?
