mac-10/9 magazine question

Hey guys, still waiting for the form-4 for my mac-10/45, but I noticed that cobray is selling 9mm uppers for the m10, and they offer two magazine styles.
Does anyone know of specific problems between single feed and double feed magazines? If anyone has tried both which one would you suggest?

I know single feed is a bigger PITA to load but makes feeding more reliable as a generalization.

Double feed (UZI, AR15, FAL) have speed loaders that are nice but not manditory....

STEN, Austen, etc require a loader if your going to do any volume loading.

well, at 1100rpm a loader will probably be nice after a while. I've loaded 500+ rounds into glock magazines in about 2 hours of shooting, surprised I didnt get blisters.

I'm kinda new to macs, as I don't yet have mine, so I do not know much about the various magazines that can be used. I do have 6 M3 mag's for .45 use, and I think I will get the modified mag catch from cobray so I can use unmodified magazines.

Also, for regular mac use I hear Wolf ammo is fine (cheap), but would it be better to use domestic ammo for use when suppressed?

The single stack works the best. But the Mag. are still over $100.00 ea. I am waiting on one of the uppers that use Soumi Mag’s. Both C&S http://www.csm-w.com/products/index.htm ... ubmit=view and SCA http://www.stonycreekarmory.com are working on them for the M10.

Thats an interesting option.. might have to hold off on the m10/9 to see if those work out first.

look into the old firepower magazine issues and it shows you how to convert the m10 9mm to use the m11/9 mags.it only requires a simple mod to the bolt and mag catch.email me an adress and ill send you a copy of the article.

Eh, I went with the double feed mag's. They work ok, depends on how you wedge the magwell adapter in. If everything is snug it works 100%, if the mag has room to wiggle it might fall off the mag latch, which makes for a nice embarasing clunk when it hits the ground as your shooting.

$100?! No way! Those better work the first time. I got some for around $24 if I remember right. they are the steel trapezoid shaped kind for a SWD Mac. Thats another thing. I was going to buy a bunch of sten mags (which fit the vulcan arms v-10) but won't fit the SWD. Unless yours comes with the handle already modded to accept the square like sten mags.
