Anything against a Benelli? At ~$425 for LEO Remington 870 I'd be hard pressed to go with any auto-loader at much greater expense.flight954 wrote:If someone has one, please post pics. I'm tossing around the set up
Re: Remington 1100 or 11-87 SBS
Benelli and the Tromix Saiga are out of the price range. I can work over an 1100 or 11-87 for under $1000
Re: Remington 1100 or 11-87 SBS
Benelli's gently used are well under $1K (slightly over generally with a $200 stamp and SureFire forearm).flight954 wrote:Benelli and the Tromix Saiga are out of the price range. I can work over an 1100 or 11-87 for under $1000

If you convert your own saiga it can be done for $1000. Plus it is fun, pretty easy, makes the best tactical shotgun possible IMO, and makes you a proud poppa.

The 1100 works better as a SBS use a old 1100 barrel to cut down that has two ports it is easier to open the port than the newer barrels than the single port...

If your goal is a semi SBS under 1K I would just wait around for a benelli, they come up all the time in that price point. I got mine on Obama's inaguration day for $850 with a surefire AND that included the tax stamp. I still see them for time to time at the 600 to 650 price point. Just my opinion though.

Re: Remington 1100 or 11-87 SBS
If you're on a budget, you may want to look for a Remington 11-48. They look like an 1187/1100 but are recoil operated. I've picked up several from gunshows in excellent condition for less than $150. Unlike the 11-87/1100 they are recoil operated, and have a self adjusting system, so they should run with any load. Makes sure the bushing is in good condition when buying. If you get one that's not, polish with some emery, clean and oil (the bushing material is porous and will soak up the oil).
The ones I've SBR'd I cut just ahead of the mag tube give a 12.5" barrel. If you get one, try and find one without the vent rib.

Is there any way to get an AOW ($5 transfer) 1100?
