Been a while since I posted, I figured someone here would benefit by seeing this. (and buying it.)

I just use a 12 guage adaptor. Lots cheaper and more flexible.

Yes, at ~150-200 times the cost of the 12 gauge per round fired.

One of these days, I'm going to start rolling my own. I want to see how various things work with my powder charge and payloads. The folks on Grog's site seem to find creative uses for all sorts of scrap materials in these 40mm DD's. ;)

I make my own. I have a silicone mode of the shell carrier and cap, and pour them up in 2 part resin. Then load up a casing and you are good to go!

Ditto. Making the very first round, I spent less than I would have buying one. Mold, resin, reloading supplies, all included. Wayyy cheaper to make them, and grog has great directions. His two part CD was well worth the money. :)

I kept having this nagging thought...

Where are you seeing all these 00 buck pellets in a 40mm shotgun load, anyway?

For what it's worth, most of the M576s I've come across have 20 pellets of #4 buck, but practically every source says that they held 27 pellets of 00 buck. No idea why.

In the case of those that I've come across, and those that I load with a mold made from original parts, there's simply no way 27 00 buck pellets would fit.
RIP Dave. You will be missed.
