Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

Damn that is nice looking, did he have it all refinished or what? Usually the ones I see are pretty beat up.

If you are looking for a soft case I would go with an Eagle or Blackhawk...trey_phish83 wrote:i just purchased a really clean ruger ac556, from a great guy, ssnfa, and i am in the market for something solid to keep it in for its journey across the country. so please, tell me what works, and if you have a folder, and no case, tell me the length and width, and i'll go from there. thanks guys. check her out. its my second MG, i can't wait!

he told me it had been a safe queen since birth. the up close pictures shows very very slight wear, and the bluing looks factory.Wahnsinn wrote:Damn that is nice looking, did he have it all refinished or what? Usually the ones I see are pretty beat up.

Congrats on a extremely wicked nice rifle.trey_phish83 wrote:i just purchased a really clean ruger ac556, from a great guy, ssnfa, and i am in the market for something solid to keep it in for its journey across the country. so please, tell me what works, and if you have a folder, and no case, tell me the length and width, and i'll go from there. thanks guys. check her out. its my second MG, i can't wait!
I'd go with something like a Pelican case. I use them for photo gear, and I don't think you could hurt one unless you drove over it in a car, or used explosives.
Damn thats a nice Ruger, I'm multi color green with envy!
Re: Decent case for AC556 folder Recommendations?
About the case, maybe Pelican or Hardige.
About the gun, If I ever get a Mg, that is the one.
With a can of course. Um, are you planning on the quiet side with this?

Without a doubt good sir. I found the adapter from the ruger 9/16x32 to 1/2x28 and have a 7.62SD that will complement that weapon nicely.SRM wrote:About the case, maybe Pelican or Hardige.

While I've got a Voodoo soft case for some things, I loves me some Pelican and SKB hard cases.
My 22/45 lives in a Pelican
I'm liking SKB even better these days, all because of their latches.
If you have a Pelican case, you know how hard they are to latch and unlatch.
You can break a finger or thumb just getting some open.
SKB couldn't be easier; no pressure, just lift and you're open.

Congrat's - I love mine - really wicked fun with the 22LR conversion on it for taking someone out for a taste of full auto without breaking the bank.
Case wise, are you carrying or shipping or ? - I have several cases for my shorty guns -
Soft case for just driving out and back without any stops.
Hard cases for traveling with stops - but my hard cases are not generally gun cases. I use alternative cases.
UNLESS I'm Shipping then I have Aluminum cases that I can stand on without worrying about contents.
Tool boxes make excellent cases for protection
http://quarterbore.com/ar15m16/toolbox.html
Instrument cases both hard and soft serve well
Tennis racket cases, Baseball Bat Duffle, Pool Cue case, Trumpet cases, Golf Bag Travel case - it all works well with just a little fiddling.
Yamaha keyboard case with a big yamaha logo on the side will hold SBR's that don't fold.
I don't disagree with Pelican/Hardigg/SKB or Aluminum cases but often they scream expensive contents or GUN to many people.
Even some of the discreet cases to me scream GUN

LEGAL NOTE: Some states (and possibly localities) forbid the using of "non-gun cases" to hold firearms.
They want you to carry your rifle in a case that is obviously a gun case (whatever the heck that is).
So be sure to check with your local and state laws before deciding on using such a case!

What I use for my AK
The mini is samller than the Ruger so it should fit good.
And other guns that also fit.

I really like the tennis racket cases.
But a fat guy carrying anything athletic may be suspicious too.
If its staying put in the trunk, the tool box method is the way too go.

Ah, more information than in first post...
If I was in that situation I might not pick toolbox or athletic case.
Music might work but would be more awkward for me.
I'd look into one of the backpack's designed for special use
http://www.511tactical.com/All-Products ... -Pack.html
Large-format covert carry bag
Sized for submachine gun or with collapsed stock (overall length <600mm)
Front pouch concealment pack with pistol holder, mag/knife holder and accessory pocket
Hot-Pull™ tabs for rapid weapon deployment
Detachable front pouch doubles as fanny pack with concealed sidearm
Front panel Back-Up Belt System™ and web platform interior
Rugged haul handle and QR breakaway strap
Hydration bladder and water bottle pocket
Padded aeromesh back
Rugged 1050D nylon
Velcro ID/patch panels
