i have a 7.3 sbr from CMMG
now that i want a can for it, i'm having them send me a 11.5" barrel for it
not sure what else i must do along with changing the barrel, obviously gas tube needs changing, what else?
most likely it'll get some company, in the form of a AAC M4-2000
EGRESS bolts help with extraction. I believe that the EGRESS is their version of the Crane mod with a couple other minor updates.
I have the 11.5 SBR with H-2 buffer with EGRESS bolt on order so, you will have company in a few weeks when I should be able to shoot it at my dealers range. I will be testing it with an Ops Inc model 16 but, I may give my dealers Omni whirl if he's willing.

Yes, there are both. The 69 signifies the LE Carbine series, with an M4 profile barrel. The 6920 with a 16", 6921 with 14.5" and 6933 with 11.5" barrels. The 67 series refers to the Government carbine series with a thin pencil barrel. I have never seen a 6733, but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, the 6721's generally command less money than the 6921 as the M4 barrel seems more popular.
I have the 6920, and the 6921, now I need a 6933 before I start working on the 67 series. Hopefully the 10 series will make it's way out soon.
i would think you could get a "factory SBR" from just about any manufacturer. decide what type of weapon you want and from who, then have your friendly local title II dealer give them a call. i'd be willing to bet [more often then not] you'd be able to get what you want.
I opted for the 6933, twice, because I didn't want my name on the gun.
I am somewhat annoyed that I will have to engrave my Colt 6450 in order to SBR it. If they offered a factory SBR 9mm I would buy it, but it's more important to me that it have the horse on the side, and everything that means, than to have a factory gun.
David Hineline wrote:Manuf. marks are not required on the receiver, that is for the serial number, so you can engrave an exposed part of the barrel.
Or you could move to Hartford, CT and legally change your name to Colt Firearms Division.
The question then becomes doesn't the engraving have to be readily viewable? If I engrave a 10.5" barrel and put a 10.0 rail on it, you're not going to be able to readily view the engraving.
To piggyback on the original question, who offers factory 9mm SBRs? It appears to me that the only choice would be RRA, but I'm not sure if they do factory registered SBRs or not.
