Why are they shocked? Has Obama been honest to date?

If I was a prison guard, I would be saddened to be attacked by an inmate - but I would not be shocked. They are criminals. They are in there because they lack impulse control.

It appears that the Obama supporters of this country, likewise, do not understand the nature of the dishonest or criminal.

They think 2% is bad? Pfft. People are really going to be pissed when they realize just how much taxes are going to have to go up.

2009 federal revenue $2.1 trillion.
How much was spent? $3.5 trillion.

2010? $2.2 in, $3.5 out
2011? $2.3 in, $3.6 out
2012? $2.5 trillion in revenue... $3.8 trillion spent

2013? Plan on numbers that are just as far apart.

This garbage is coming to a head. a 2% tax increase is the least of our worries... in the near future.

We could cease 100% of all military defense spending.... stop all wars and every oversea operation, park every airplane, chopper, aircraft carrier, pack away every select fire weapon.... send every soldier home and cease operation on every base both foreign and domestic... and it STILL wouldn't get us to a balanced budget.

If you would like another idea... instead of leaving the country defenseless, how about this? The Feds could increase our 2013 tax revenues by 50%.... increase everyone's social security tax during 2013 by 50%, increase everyone's income tax by 50%, yep, increase the evil rich’s taxes by 50%... and everyone else’s too…. increase all gasoline, cigarette, and all other taxes by 50%... and it STILL wouldn't be enough to balance the 2013 budget.... let alone bring in enough revenue to actually REDUCE our countries’ massive volume of debt.

What a bunch of fools.

TO build on Ick's words. We will still have a budget deficit if all they spend is money toward Medicare, Social Security and service to the debt. That would be if they cut all discretionary spending, defense, DOJ, DOE, all of it...

Dark times ahead.

I just love to sit around and imagine what will happen to our numbers when the cost of the debt service increases. That is going to be a whole lot of fun.

He has been honest about raising taxes and spending money just not exactly about how much or on who in either case.
