The group says it will "soon have some impressive new weapons at its disposal to combat those who gun down deer and doves" and that it is "shopping for one or more drone aircraft with which to monitor those who are out in the woods with death on their minds."
The group says it also hopes to fly drones over factory farms, fishing spots and "other venues where animals routinely suffer and die."
"We're not releasing the locations that we have in mind, but we will look into the Northeast, bighorn sheep hunts and bowhunts because those are especially cruel," she says.

Sounds fun . I hope they come to our duck lake.
Re: PETA Plans to Fly Drones That Would 'Stalk Hunters'
This sounds cool. Is it like one of those RC copters? Maybe a quad?
I gotta say... if the camera isn't streaming, then they're going to lose some of these UAVs without much legal recourse. I think they'll lose some now with some shakey footage of some orange-vested huntsman angrily waving a bird gun at it in the last few frames before image loss.

I built a few potato guns in the past. One that fires a cast net would be cool. Capture the drone, and make the owner come get it.
Maybe there's a market for a short range EM gun.

Their RF controlled. Should be simple enough to jam.
July 5th, 2016. The day that we moved from a soft tyranny to a hard tyranny.

I think that this is the kind of thing that can get you in an insane amount of trouble if it's done wrong.bakerjw wrote:Their RF controlled. Should be simple enough to jam.

One got shot down last year from a similar group.

Shooting one of these down is most likely illegal but in many states it's also illegal to harass or interfere with lawful hunting, fishing, and trapping.

Yeah but I'm thinking if you happened to have your own controller that just happened to be on the same frequency ... thought of it already but those things are getting pretty fancy with spread spectrum and security encoding.TROOPER wrote:I think that this is the kind of thing that can get you in an insane amount of trouble if it's done wrong.bakerjw wrote:Their RF controlled. Easier just to shoot it and mount it.

Re: PETA Plans to Fly Drones That Would 'Stalk Hunters'
If it violates my airspace (TBD by me), I'll assume the drone is operated by a terrorist or sex offender.
