Since the crazy started:

* 50 rds 38, and 50 rds of 357 to my sister and Brother in law.
* 100 rds 45 ACP to my Nephew
* 100Rds bartered to the A/C guy on a home repair to the A/C a few weeks ago. (bill was over $120.00)

So far that's all I've go out, other than what I'm shooting.

If you do loan out ammo, you might not want your fingerprints on it.
Someone could bust into your house, shoot your dog, and haul you off to jail.

Everybody knows that fingerprints on brass leads to corrosion. That's why I always wipe my ammo clean

Craps, you move in upscale relationships. The only time I can put my hands on a box of those is when I sweet talk a nurse in the emergency room into taking pity on a poor deputy...

How does one "loan" ammo? Isn't that like loaning someone a piece of toilet paper?

You GIVE someone toilet paper, you don't loan a piece to them and expect it back.

I think it's kinda like "loaning" money. Something else I don't really do.

Yes, the KC safeskin nitriles are primo. They get used sparingly, sometimes reused.

Look in the phone book for a medical supply house. Ask if they do cash and carry and go get some. You don't need a license for most medical supplies.

When a friends asks me for a "loan", I won't do it. It is a lose-lose even if you get repaid... the friendship is damaged. Unfortunately I have found repayment extremely unlikely, so don't plan on that.

You are better off to come up with a creative solution that involves the guy earning the money himself. Barring that possibility I consider the possibility of GIVING the friend money with no strings attached. It is the only way for a worthy friendship to survive such a request. Loaning to friends should not be treated flippantly.

It seems to me the same attitude makes sense for "loaning" ammo.

Dude... If the only cost for a box of top notch gloves is booty call to a hot nurse... really?

But thanks for the input.

@ick I agree, I never "expect" money back from any friend, it's never a loan. If it's something like money for lunch or drinks it's a gift that will be repaid, not necessarily in cash, over the course of the friendship. No accounting, no tracking, no score keeping. If it's a more significant amount of money then it is handled in trade and the deal is "final" when the money is exchanged. Nobody owes anybody anything and all egos part intact.

@continuity yeah, the best price I've ever been able to find on the net is ~$15/100 delivered to my door which is still the same as the reasonable price for a single 9mm round, a price we will likely never see again. But rocker has a point, there are no cameras in the exam room and a handful in your pocket will definitely make the nurse think you're happy to see her ... er ... well ... hopefully "her".
