Pa. Suit to allow Sunday hunting shot down, not protected by 2nd Amendment
http://www.guns.com/2014/06/24/pennsylv ... amendment/

"A federal judge found that the Second Amendment protections do not include recreational hunting in dismissing a lawsuit brought about to grant hunting on Sundays in Pennsylvania."

"The suit, brought about by the Lancaster County-based Hunters United for Sunday Hunting against the Pennsylvania Game Commission, was an attempt to ask the courts to compel the state to end its so-called 'blue law' forbidding the taking of either small or large game on Sunday."

"The Keystone State is one of only 11 that currently prohibit Sunday hunting." ...

Right. Sunday hunting is not protected by the 2nd Amendment. It is protected by the 1st Amendment.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"

Simply put...What is the significance of Sunday? It is a religiously significant day, to some, of some religions. Others, including religious faiths that recognize other days of the week as their "big day" consider Sunday just another day.

As a wet blanket thought, the "right to hunt" is not addressed in the USCon. Not included/intended to be addressed relative the 1st or 2nd ammendment(s). Sorry, nothing to see here, move along. Perhaps some traction relative the subject might be gained, in a legal context, relative an argument that the Preamble to the USCon gives reference to the "right to pursue happiness", but I'm thinking that's a somewhat convoluted way to go about the subject.

I suppose the Framers, though astute and forward thinking, were not able to concieve of the absolute miopic idiocy that would manifest itself within the Rebublic they established.
