Judicial Watch is revealing that Esteban Santiago, the Fort Lauderdale airport shooter, converted to Islam before he joined the US Army. He had taken on the name Aashiq Hammad and lived within walking distance of the only mosque in Alaska.
The reset of the traditional mainstream media coverage promotes the government rhetoric that omits any ties to terrorism even though early on a photo surfaced of Santiago making an ISIS salute while wearing a keffiyeh, a Palestinian Arab scarf...
The public records uncovered in the days after the massacre suggest Santiago (Hammad) is a radical Islamic terrorist that’s seriously committed to Islam. Besides taking on a Muslim name, he recorded three Islamic religious songs, including the Muslim declaration faith (“there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger”) known as the Shahada. He also posted a thread about downloading propaganda videos from Islamic terrorists on a weapons and explosives forum. The investigative news site that unearthed this disturbing information connected the dots between Santiago, who is of Puerto Rican descent, and Hammad, an identity he created in 2007.
The charge is that the Obama administration is influencing the media to keep the information of an ISIS attack in Fort Lauderdale out of the press, instead spinning the story to blame a mentally disturbed Puerto Rican soldier.

The FBI and Sheriff's office questioned Esteban Santiago after the shooting and they told the Miami Herald that they have no evidence yet that Santiago pledged to ISIS. So...the Judicial Watch allegation is unproven at this point. It would be informative if the FBI investigated whether Santiago attended the nearby mosque in Alaska.
The ideas were first posted by a controversial conservative blogger in California and then spread by Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group that successfully sued to make Hillary Clinton’s emails public during the presidential campaign. A Fort Lauderdale businessman was roused by the incendiary posts, penning a letter to Fort Lauderdale’s mayor and others, claiming — the same as Judicial Watch — that there is a conspiracy by the mainstream media and federal, state and local authorities to cover up Santiago’s terrorist leanings.
But FBI agents scrubbing Santiago’s social-media sites have found nothing to indicate he was an Islamic convert inspired by terrorist organizations, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation.

Hmmm, I had begun to have some doubts about the original Judicial Watch story about Esteban Santiago shooting an ISIS attack at the Fort Lauderdale airport. The FBI claimed numerous times to the Press on the record, that Santiago was merely a mentally troubled NG soldier.
Hah, Tuesday at Esteban Santiago's bond hearing in court, the FBI came clean on the legal record that Santiago had confessed to them during questioning after the Jan 7 shooting, that he carried out the airport massacre in the name of ISIS.
Not only that, but FBI also revealed that at the previous FBI contact in Alaska where Santiago voluntarily went to the FBI office, that he confessed then to the FBI that he was a muslim convert and involved with ISIS, and he told the FBI about ISIS controlling him.
Fact: We now know from the legal record, that the FBI lied to the American public and press many times to deny that Esteban Santiago had carried out an ISIS attack. The FBI deliberately hid this from us. Was this FBI lying done because of orders from on high that they were to hide this ISIS attack so it wouldn't hurt Obama's record as he leaves office? (as the Judicial Watch report had claimed?)

I am quite willing to believe that nutjob was a radical muslime and that he was a ISIS fan boy. I cannot ever consider any FBI agent's testimony as credible.
