I use the NRA discounts frequently for a number of companies listed in the above article as of Friday afternoon, including all the car rental companies. I'll have to check and see whether other organizations I belong to have a similar discount to replace the former NRA discount.

Maybe you need to find a competing company that still or would support the NRA discount, supporting the NRA. Or if you are anti NRA, some other gun group.johndoe3 wrote:https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/mor ... a09dee10b3

hardcase, I am a long time member of the NRA and GOA and a pro-gun activist. I will not abandon the NRA or GOA for any reason, since more pro-gun changes are still in our future and through our grouping together these incremental changes get enacted.Maybe you need to find a competing company that still or would support the NRA discount, supporting the NRA. Or if you are anti NRA, some other gun group.
The short-term problem is that if you travel and rent a car, ALL the major car rental companies have joined the NRA boycott this week. Actually because of mergers and consolidations, it's only 2 companies that own all of the major car rental companies. The following are removing their NRA discounts...
Car rentals: Avis (Hertz, Avis, Budget, Zipcar) and Enterprise (Enterprise, Alamo and National).
Hotels/Motels: Best Western, and Wyndham (Ramada, Wyndham, Baymont, Microtel, Days Inn, TravelLodge, Howard Johnsons, Knights Inn)
insurance: MetLife, and Chubb (underwriter of NRA Carry Guard, although the NRA has already replaced with another company before this week).
security system: SimpliSafe
So...I will avoid many of the companies above participating in this NRA boycott, but with rental cars, you cannot avoid it since it is all the major car rental companies. I checked and I can get similar discounts using other organizations for which I'm a member(USAA 25% car rental discount). With Hotels/Motels, I use Expedia.com and can snag better deals anyway than using a discount from the posted daily high price for a room (sometimes Trivago.com although Expedia is usually better).

This, the NRA gives away almost as many freedoms as it holds in reserve to trade off another day.YugoRPK wrote:I dont send them money for the discounts anyway.
