Prohibition ending? Oklahoma passes lenient medical marijuana

It was only 2 years ago when Kansas and Oklahoma sued the State of Colorado over marijuana leaking into their States (unsuccessful).

On Tuesday of this past week, Oklahoma voters (57% to 43%) passed one of the most lenient medical marijuana citizen initiated ballot initiatives in the USA.

I don't use the stuff but I am in favor of liberty; and I congratulate the good folks of Oklahoma in opting out of the war on drugs (at least in relation to marijuana).

Oklahoma's medical marijuana structure is lenient, because it allows doctors to prescribe it for any condition they deem reasonable. Also, patients can raise their own pot medicine at home; and the penalties for pot possession are greatly reduced.

Liberty is good and having a choice is good.

Oh, I guess they'll have to drop that old Merle Haggard standard--Okie From Muskogee
We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee
We don't take our trips on LSD
We don't burn our draft cards down on Main Street
We like livin' right, and bein' free

We don't make a party out of lovin'
We like holdin' hands and pitchin' woo
We don't let our hair grow long and shaggy
Like the hippies out in San Francisco do

I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee,
A place where even squares can have a ball
We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse,
And white lightnin's still the biggest thrill of all

Leather boots are still in style for manly footwear
Beads and Roman sandals won't be seen
Football's still the roughest thing on campus
And the…
Back then they didn't realize that being Drafted was a form of slavery (and definitely not "bein' free").
You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time...and those are pretty good odds.
