After Dick's CEO stopped selling AR's, in order to 'virtue signal' his gun-control bona-fides, a number of the largest gun manufacturers decided to stop selling any of their guns to/through Dick's. As a consequence, Dick's sales have dropped, profits have dropped, and their stock price recently fell by over 50%.
Now Dick's CEO has mentioned that they may have to close all 35 Field & Stream stores across the USA due to lower sales.
It's an expensive cost for Dick's shareholders to bear due to the CEO's anti-gun actions (the CEO is the founder and owns more than 50% of shares).

They really shot themselves in the foot. Not with an AR15 though, that would have been bad.
