ITAR regs, moving from Trade to Commerce department

Post by mr fixit »

I just saw a blurb about registration for the firearms industry being moved from under the Trade department to the Commerce department. From what I read, there will no longer be a requirement for manufacturers to register and pay ITAR fees. Just wondering if that includes suppressor manufacturers.

I have no idea. What I do know is that a lot of Canadian shooters are rather openly excited about what sorts of fun accessories we'll be seeing in the coming months. Night vision stuff and scopes, who knows? Pretty cool change if it's going to work out that we have access to the stuff we see Americans using.
