Dems trying to sneak in part of a national red flag law

GOA put out an alert today about Nancy Pelosi trying to sneak in a devastating gun seizure law into the 2021 Defense Bill in the House.
Once again, Nancy Pelosi and her comrades are trying to sneak a gun confiscation scheme onto a giant piece of legislation.

In this case, it’s H.R. 6395, the William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021.

The section in question, section §542, would authorize an unannounced middle-of-the-night raid of the home of any individual subject to the Uniform Code of Military Conduct (§542(a)) based on a middle of the night ex parte “court” proceeding (§542(i)) initiated by an aggrieved friend or relation, raising unsubstantiated allegations that the serviceman or servicewoman was “abusive.”

The gun owner is not entitled to receive notice or give his or her side of the story.

The proposed emergency Military Court Gun Confiscation Orders (GCOs) are explicitly exempted from the “Protection of Due Process” provided for in 542(g)(1).

In fact, there is no notice before the SWAT Team arrives at 2:00 a.m. — ready to ransack the house, seize all guns, and, if the target resists, kill the servicemember.
So...if anyone is subject to the UCMJ, they could face gun seizures without 'due process' merely on the accusation that they were 'abusive'. That's a wide net on which any military member could have their guns seized. It seems like the Dems are closing the loop piece by piece towards a total red flag law nation which suspends due process until after your guns are gone.
You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time...and those are pretty good odds.

On Tuesday the House passed the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) with a veto proof majority, and it included the gun confiscation portion which applies to all personnel subject to the UCMJ (military). Either many pro-gun Representatives didn't read the Bill or else they don't care in passing oppressive Red Flag laws against the military to seize guns from anyone if they are accused of being abusive (words or actions).
The House-passed Gun Confiscation Orders (GCOs) apply to persons subject to the United States Code of Military Justice. But, for them, it would be worse in many ways than the “red flag” GCO programs drafted in state legislatures.

The essentials are the same: a gun owner can be stripped of his or her Second Amendment-protected rights in an ex parte proceeding by an unsubstantiated allegation from a hostile relative who dislikes him or her. Experience shows that the confiscation normally occurs in a surprise raid on the gun owner’s home in the middle of the night.

In more than one case, gun owners have been shot to death for “non-compliance.” Now, thanks to the rabid onslaught of gun-hating politicians, it’s sitting on the 2021 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

Unlike the boilerplate GCOs drafted by gun control groups and passed in 19 states, the House-passed NDAA bill allows the president—presumably, in their opinion, President Joe Biden—to write all of the particulars.
We need to contact our Senators to let them know not to vote to include the secretive gun control hidden within the NDAA. Instead, we need to encourage Senators to include the Hearing Protection Act (suppressors) and nationwide recognition of CCW permits by all States while striking out the Dem's Red Flag law attempt. Now is the time for people to step into the fray by contacting your Senators by e-mail. The link below will tell your how to do it.

Even easier is using the GOA website which has a pre-made e-mail and will send it to your 2 senators in a minute or two. You don't need to be a GOA member to use the below method--it's very easy. You can add the request for your Senators to include the Hearing Protection Act and National Reciprocity Act into the NDAA at the end of the pre-made e-mail before sending.
