Gee, seems like the title of that newspaper article needs a bit of tweaking.

Three teens knock 65 year old man of bike in robbery attempt, one teen killed by gunshot.

I wonder what the teens used for the assult. Five bucks says they used some sort of weapon like a knife, bat, etc.

Only in the fourth paragraph do they say who the victim was or that he was attacked and defended himself. At least they put this in the article:

The man was released by police after they consulted with District Attorney John Adams late Wednesday, WFMZ reported.

...which means he isn't being investigated for murder or manslaughter or anything. Pretty clear case of self-defense.
